Estelle's sophomore effort Shine has been kicking about on my tunes list for a while now and the jury's back with its verdict: I like it! In parts, it's very Mary J. Bligesque (without the diva sass), a little Lily Allen in others (with added sass), mix in a little organic gospel, a generous serving of soul and there's a recipe for toe-tapping goodness for your auditory senses. With heavyweight buddies and collaborators, Kanye West, Will.I.Am, John Legend, Wyclef Jean and Mark Ronson, this one is diggity and sure to stay on rotation for a while yet! Represent West London y'all!
